Uppercut Productions – Ident Test Renders from Rob Antill on Vimeo.
Here’s some initial test renders created while developing an ident for the Nottingham based company Upper Cut Productions. They specialise in aerial photography.
I wanted to try out the Element3D plugin for After effects, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to learn and test it. The above video is some examples I played with to see how the plugin performed… basically I think its a amazing, to create something like this in 3DSMax would have taken me ages.. mainly due to rendering times. The great thing about Element is that its all GPU rendered, so its super duper fast. It does have its limitations but for this kind of stuff its revolutionary.
The final version of the ident was used in this awesome time-lapse video.
Tribe Brand Communication Showreel 2011 from Tribe Brand Communication on Vimeo.
So I’ve been a busy bee the past 3 months, working on the tribe showreel. It’s finally complete and released into the wild..
I’m putting together a how it was made post soon..
A few months back Simon at Tribe came to me with a cool brief. It was basically to produce two lines that flow around in a 3D space. It would be used as the background on a holding page for the company Parallel Pictures.
Simon did the design and Ben sorted the code.
The site has recently gone live! Below is a screen grab of the finished holding page. Here’s a link to the site (It may have changed).
More on how this was done after the break…
I found that you can generate a fractal in After Effects the other day.. I couldn’t resist having a little play. Here’s what I created… Be warned the video is ever so lightly trippy :p
