Concept Exhibition Stands 2 & 3.
Jan 18th
Past couple of days at Tribe I’ve been busy working on the last two exhibition stand concepts. Tracey who works at tribe again came up the floor plan and style. Simon provided me with the graphics that are on each vertical panel.
The first stand is based on three different styles you might find in home, Modern, Classic and a Hall Way. Tracey gave me a rough idea of what she wanted in each section. It was my job to create the furniture to match the style. This was the first time I’ve modelled chairs like this. I was a little apprehensive at first to whether I could do it. I nearly decided to just down load some chairs of the net. But I carried on and cracked it in the end. I’m pretty pleased with how they turned out.. They’re not perfect and improvements could be made on the texturing but I just didn’t have the time to tweak them any further…
Below are some renders with the chairs in place. Over all I’m happy with the results.

Exhibition concept #1
Dec 9th
This week has been super hectic at Tribe! I have a lot of different projects running simultaneously at the moment. One project that needed to be done before I left for the the Alps was a 3D visualisation concept for a exhibition stand. I started work on this on Monday but really got into it on Tuesday. I was firing on all cylinders on Thursday trying to get everything modelled, textured, lit, and rendered. I have noticed a huge improvement in the time it takes me to set up a scene now. I guess the term practice makes perfect rings true here.. Not that this perfect but I defiantly feel I am pushing for a higher level of quality with every piece I produce. Tracey came up with the concept and Simon provided the graphic textures. I even created some bump maps to add to the realism. The rug was created with vRay fur which I hadn’t used before (but will be in the future :p) All was rendered with vRay. I still need to master all the settings in vRay, I know there is some serious room for optimisation on render times… Any who hope you like the visuals

How I got work with Tribe Uk
Sep 1st
So now that Uni is well and truly over I was left thinking what do I do now! My Friend Alex is now working with a guy called Norm (aka Wasteyourself) They have set up their own little graphic design studio in Nottingham. Norm had sculpted this interesting character a few years ago and asked me whether I could create a 3D model of it.
So I got to work making this character. While I was making it Alex was doing some drawing on the studio walls at Tribe (A uber cool design and brand communication agency)…
When I sent him some test renders of the character Alex showed the people at Tribe. It just so happened they were looking for a 3D artist!
So we got in contact and I was briefed on my first project the following day! As of writing this I’m still involved in the first project. Tribe do a lot of work for Eon the power company. They wanted a interactive web based 3D visualization of a new smart network they are implementing in Milton Keynes. I completed the first stage of the modelling a week or so ago and they were so happy with the results they have given me 3 more major/minor projects including the production of their company show reel which will be great fun to make!
Last week marked Tribe’s 10th birthday so they celebrated by having a bit of a party in the studio. I was kindly invited along. Alex and Norm we doing a live drawing during the party… Here’s some photos of the studio and party..
There are more photos up on my Flickr…
I took this Stereographic Projection of the finished drawing..
Over all I’m really happy that Tribe have given me this opportunity to be working in such a good atmosphere with nice friendly people. I hope it leads on to other interesting and exiting things
